What is the Engineers Without Borders Global Summit?

The Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Global Summit is a flagship international gathering that brings together EWB organisations, engineering professionals, students, researchers, and partners from around the world to collaborate, share knowledge, and strengthen collective action for sustainable development and community impact.

I’m not part of the EWB network. Can I still attend?

Yes. For the first time, the Global Summit will open its doors on Friday, 21 May to engineering professionals beyond the EWB network. This dedicated day will provide an opportunity for practitioners, innovators, academics, companies, and development partners to showcase their work, exchange knowledge, explore collaborations, and engage with global leaders using engineering to address society’s most pressing challenges.

Do I need a visa to attend?

Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate travel documentation and visas required for entry. The Summit organisers can provide invitation letters to support visa applications, and participants are encouraged to begin the process as early as possible.

What is included in the registration fee?

Registration typically includes access to selected Summit sessions, accommodation, workshops, networking activities, official Summit materials, refreshments during scheduled breaks, and selected social events. Specific inclusions will be outlined during the registration process.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

If you can no longer attend, please notify the Summit organisers as soon as possible. Refunds for paid registrations are subject to cancellation timelines and attendance categories. In general, higher refunds are available for cancellations made well in advance, while cancellations made within 30 days of the event are typically not eligible for a refund. Registration substitutions may also be permitted, subject to approval. Learn more: Cancellation Policy

How can I showcase my organisation or engineering project?

Engineering professionals, companies, research institutions, academic organisations, and development partners interested in showcasing their work can apply to participate in the Friday Showcase programme. This is an opportunity to share innovative solutions, connect with global stakeholders, and explore future collaboration opportunities within the engineering-for-impact sector.
